Postpartum Doula Services and Repsonsibilies
Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
A Postpartum Doula will help with:
- Infant Care
- Umbilical cord and circumcision care
- Infant baths (sponge bath & tub)
- Swaddling
- Overnight Care
- Feeding
- Baby's Laundry
- Organization and upkeep of nursery
- Baby's dishes
- Light household duties (on an as needed basis)
- Sleep Training
- Breastfeeding support, guidance and information
- Recording of baby's schedule
- Ability to provide any other support in any area that the family deems necessary.
- Bottle preparation
- Diaper changing
- Bathing and Dressing
- Meal Preparation
- Care for older siblings while Mother cares for Baby
- Educate the family
A Postpartum Doula will help with:
- Reducing maternal exhaustion, frustration, and apprehension during early weeks.
- Reducing chances of maternal postpartum depression
- Enabling Dad to get back to work sooner with less anxiety.
